Tim DALY recently completed his doctoral research at The University of Melbourne, after many years as both a solo and ensemble singer. His work combines recent research into medieval musical training and compositional process with fifteenth- century counterpoint treatises and computer-assisted analysis of twelve early masses based on the L’homme armé melody to develop an analytical framework for four-voice cantus firmus polyphony.
