Renato BORGES holds a PhD in Music from the Universidade Federal do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (PPGM-UNIRIO) focused on conceptual frameworks, trends, processes and products of musicological research in Brazil. Master in Music at the same University researching 16th century Italian practices such as cori spezzati, as well as the subsequent developments and musical changes caused by this music in the 17th century. He is the creator and editor of Amplificar, an online database on Brazilian research in Music.
