Matthew THOMSON is a Fitzjames Research Fellow at Merton College, Oxford. His research focuses on thirteenth-century motets, trouvère song, and the use of music in medieval literature. He is the co-editor (with Elizabeth Eva Leach and Joseph W. Mason) of a book on Trouvère manuscript C, forthcoming with Boydell. He also has publications in A Critical Companion to Medieval Motets, edited by Jared Hartt, and Performing Medieval Text, edited by Ardis Butterfield, Henry Hope, and Pauline Souleau.
