Julie E. CUMMING is a Professor at the Schulich School of Music, McGill University. She is the author of The Motet in the Age of Du Fay (1999). She has published articles and reviews in Speculum, the Journal of Musicology, and Early Music, as well as in numerous edited collections, including the Cambridge History of Fifteenth-Century Music. Research interests include Renaissance musical genres (especially the motet and the madrigal), compositional process, historical improvisation, and computational Musicology.
