Ita HIJMANS, artistic director of Aventure, performer, teacher and researcher, specialized in medieval music at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis (CH). She gave many workshops and lectures on medieval music and initiated interdisciplinary projects and symposia. With Aventure she performed at international podia and participated in recordings, including ‘Songs from the Gruuthuse Manuscript and instrumental connections’ (Challenge Records, 2018). Currently she is also carrying out her research project on secular monophony from the Alps to the North Sea between 1380-1440.
