Giacomo FERRARIS graduated in violin and music composition from the Milan Music Conservatory (in 2012 and 2020, respectively) and in Musicology from Pavia/Cremona university, in 2017. In the same year he started a PhD programme at the same university, with a project focussing on the Rossi Codex, the first organic compilation of Italian Trecento polyphony, in a notational and analytical perspective. He presented on Trecento themes at conferences in Rouen (“Composer(s) in the Middle Ages”, May 2019), Lleida (International Medieval Meeting, June 2019), Basel (MedRen 47), Matera (XXVI Convegno annuale della Società italiana di Musicologia), and online at MedRen 48. A paper, in collaboration with Federico Zavanelli, has been accepted for the European Music Analysis conference, to be held in September 2021.
